As a mixed media designer-maker, I love to create works using various materials and mediums to help depict the often hidden messages, meanings and stories behind them. These often are linked either to personal subjects or to subjects that I feel a connection with and think are important issues that need to be highlighted and addressed such as: memory related illnesses (Dementia and Alzheimer's), mental well being and ocean pollution (to name a few). In order to create these meaningful works I first gather research into elements such as context, existing materials and processes, this then is used to inform my material and process explorations, which in turn informs the designs, further explorations and lastly my final outcomes. As part of this lengthy, challenging but overall enjoyable creative process, I use many different skills and techniques - which often depend on the type of work I am doing. This can range from resin and metal work to textiles, glass and ceramics - creating work which goes from contemporary wearables to vessels, platters and obje d art. Whatever the project is, the aspect I enjoy the most is the physical making of the work, as I am able to use my hands and developing my existing skills, techniques and  knowledge as well as explore new ones I have never tried before - creating things that I truly love and am sure that other people will love too.
