For this year’s Unit X project, we were asked to select a brief in which we would work collaboratively with other students from courses across the art school. The brief I selected – Whitworth Threads – challenged us to collaborate not only with the different students in our groups, but also with the Whitworth Art Gallery. The aim was to pitch and create an object or a range of objects that the gallery would want to sell in their shop. These objects had to be inspired by either the gallery itself or the park and gardens wherein the gallery is set.
